This site was inspired by the awesome and hilarious http://www.icanhascheezburger.com/, which is a great place to kill a couple days laughing and get way behind on your work. After chuckling at a few hundred captioned cats, with a few dogs and other critters mixed in, I realized there weren’t many farm animals or wild animals there. Gary Larson, creator of The Far Side, proved that cows are darned funny, so clearly there was a niche waiting to be filled.
Thus was born Candid Cows! I hope to make this the Internet’s premiere source for funny captioned pictures of cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, and all the other animals destined for the dinner table. I’ll be working to provide an easy way for people to upload pictures, and eventually to caption them here too, to make it as convenient as possible. There will also be ratings, and eventually contests and prizes. So bring on the pics!
